BLUE MED at the World ATM Congress 2015

The BLUE MED FAB Project was represented this year at the World ATM Congress, the most important European event dedicated to air traffic control services and management activities, that took place at the IFEMA Feira de Madrid from 10 to 12 March 2015.

Exhibition visitors had the opportunity to meet the Project within the ENAV Stand (927 - Hall 9) where they found an area dedicated to the BLUE MED FAB initiative, equipped with a multimedia terminal where the attendees could also enter the dedicated website. The BLUE MED representatives attending the exhibition were available to explain the on going activities and answer to any question related to the BLUE MED FAB establishment. A number of publications regarding the Project were also distributed.

During the event, BLUE MED FAB and Aireon signed an agreement (go to the relative News) to explore enhanced collaboration and optimize air traffic safety between Europe and Africa. The signing ceremony was held on the 11th March by ENAV’s stand.

Moreover, on the same date, the 4th BLUE MED ANSP Committee (go to the relative News) was held, dealing with the ATM performance and in particular on the way to improve the ATC capacity and overcome the shortages expected for Summer 2015 and 2016. 

Another meeting between BLUE MED and DANUBE FAB (go to the relative News) took place in Madrid within the Romatsa Stand, in order to plan an improved cooperation at strategic and technical/operational level. (link alla News)

BLUE MED also presented a speech at the World ATM Congress 2015 entitled: “Safety together - cooperation in the FAB framework” (go to the relative News) by Petros Stratis – DCA Cyprus BLUE MED Safety WG Leader.

The BLUE MED participation in the Madrid event is part of the communications tasks of the initiative, which ENAV is proud to undertake in order to disseminate the results achieved by the project and spread information about the activities under way, ensuring the maximum visibility.
