On the 6th and 7th of September, 2018, in Vienna, people from five FABs met for the 3rd InterFAB Communications meeting.
The first round of the two-day meeting took place at the headquarters of the host Austrocontrol (the Austrian Air Navigation Service Provider).
A follow-up on past InterFAB activities was made, as well as a report on the progress of a number of communications tools being created for the InterFAB platform. A representative from the BLUE MED FAB presented the group an update on ‘the Added Value of FABs’ document, which should be released soon, ready for its dissemination.
The second day of the meeting was held inside the 109m ATC Tower building and ranged from paving the way for the next communications actions to be taken in the next months, to a focus on ‘fragmentation’ – a word which is becoming more and more important and which will probably trigger an academic workshop in 2019 (along the lines of the ‘Volatility in ATM’ workshop’ in 2018).
The InterFAB Communications group has once again proved to be a valuable think tank for boosting communication inside the FABs themselves, among each other and outside their boundaries.
